Bruce Roberts

BruceRobertsnewBruce Roberts, the co-founder and co-owner of Gateway Real Estate, is the firm’s managing partner and has been a professional Realtor since 1978. He is a Certified Real Estate Broker (CRB), a designation shared by fewer than five percent of real estate brokers nationwide.

Bruce, and his wife Pokii, established Gateway Real Estate in 1981.

Bruce, who grew up in the Lake Merritt area of Oakland, California, attended Oakland High School and the University of California at Berkeley. He was an all-city basketball and baseball player in high school, and lettered in baseball at Cal.

While attending Cal, Bruce also worked at the Oakland Tribune, first as a copyboy and later as a sports department intern, which piqued his interest in sports journalism and led to the position of Sports Editor at both The Ashland Daily Tidings, and later, the Medford Mail Tribune.

Bruce is an avid reader (anything by Philip Roth and Richard Russo……..oh, and Lee Child, too), loves all kinds of music, is a sports enthusiast (Cal Bears, Oregon Ducks, SF Giants, 49ers, the Majors, etc.), hacks his way around the golf course as a 12-handicap, and, most of all, loves spending time with his four grandchildren.
